Change Lives in South Florida: Plant a Church & Let Us Help.

We're excited that you're interested in the church planter training City To City Miami has to offer. Below you will find details about what to expect and how you can be a part of this learning opportunity.

What is the Incubator?

The Church Planter Incubator is a two year training program that focuses on process, relationship and reflective practice instead of merely understanding new concepts. The Incubator is for current church planters or church planters who are ready to plant in about 1 year.

When does the incubator start?

The next Incubator will launch January 2019 and will meet monthly in a cohort style learning environment.

What does the training look like?

The Incubator program is modeled after Redeemer City to City's program in New York City.  It is 16 learning modules over 2 years meeting monthly in a cohort.  These modules are led by certified City to City instructors. To see the descriptions for each learning module, click here.

What do the learning modules address?

Each learning module addresses the specific needs of urban planters, including skills in thinking theologically about ministry and growth in the various areas of urban ministry. Church planters go through the program during the critical phase of launching their congregations. They get practical help on writing their action plan, the philosophy of ministry, crucial ministry development and preaching, among other topics. Ideally, this training is accompanied by coaching to encourage the planters to reach the maximum extent of their giftedness.

Who are the trainers?

  • Miami based trainers:  Felipe Assis, Jesse Carbo, Rick Hunter, Muche Ukebu, Jose Prado, & Brad Jones

  • New York City based trainers: John Thomas,  Robert Elkin, & Robert Guerrero

Is there a cost for the training?

Yes, a majority of it though is covered by grants and donations from supporters locally and abroad.  However every planter is required to pay the licensing fee of $199 a year to City to City for access to the materials and use of the Pathwright tool.

What theological or denominational affiliation must I belong to in order to participate?

City to City Miami is an interdenominational training organization.  Anyone from various theological or denominational backgrounds can apply and participate in the Incubator program.
